When Michael Plays
Every part of your wedding day tells a story. Live original piano makes each moment feel entirely your own.
As guests arrive, as the processional begins, during the signing, and as you walk back down the aisle together — live piano turns every beat of your ceremony into a memory.
The cocktail hour is often where the day really begins. Live original piano fills the room with warmth and elegance while your guests mingle, and sets the tone for everything that follows.
Book Michael for both and carry a single, cohesive musical thread from your first vow to your first drink as a married couple. The most immersive experience he offers.
The Experience
This isn't background music. It's a performance — one that becomes part of how your guests remember the day.
Michael plays exclusively his own compositions. Not a single cover, not a familiar melody. Your guests will experience something genuinely new — music written from the heart that exists nowhere else in the world.
Live piano doesn't announce itself. It fills the space naturally — guests begin to notice, lean in, listen. By the end of the cocktail hour, people are asking who the pianist is.
Michael comes to you. As long as a tuned acoustic piano is available at the venue, the performance fits seamlessly into your day — no staging, no setup drama, just music.
When guests ask what music was playing, you get to say it was original — written and performed live by an independent composer. That's a detail people remember long after the flowers have faded.
Before the day, Michael will talk through the timing of your ceremony or cocktail hour, discuss the atmosphere you're going for, and make sure everything is perfectly coordinated with your planner or venue coordinator.
One Requirement
There is one thing Michael needs from you — everything else he brings himself.
Michael does not travel with an instrument. Your venue must have a tuned acoustic piano available for the ceremony space, cocktail hour space, or both — depending on what you book.
Not sure if your venue has one? Many hotels, estates, and reception halls do. Michael is happy to help you find out — just mention it when you reach out and he'll guide you through the options, including recommending a local tuner if the piano needs attention before your day.
The Process
From your first message to the last note of your cocktail hour — here's what to expect.
Fill in the form below with your wedding date, venue, and what you're looking for. Michael responds within 24 hours.
A short conversation to talk through the venue piano, timing, and which parts of the day you'd like covered. Michael confirms the rate.
A simple agreement and deposit secures your date. Michael then coordinates directly with your venue or planner ahead of the day.
On your wedding day, Michael arrives, sets up quietly, and plays. You don't think about the music — you just feel it.
A wedding ceremony deserves music that has never been heard before — because the moment itself has never happened before.
— Michael Gray
